Below are a few things to take into account when you proceed with your change of address request:

You're giving written notification of your change of address?
You must SIGN the notice or letter indicating your new address.
You receive direct deposit payments?
You're giving notice of your change of address even though the benefit, compensation or pension is paid by direct deposit. In that way, you can be certain you'll receive all mail pertaining to the payments.
You change financial institutions or account numbers?
You generally have to fill out a new direct deposit application form and send it at least seven weeks before the deposit is to be made. Wait until the first deposit has been made in your new account before closing the old account.
You want to have your mail redirected to your new address?
To have your mail redirected to your new address, fill out a Change of Address Notification form at the postal outlet nearest you, at least two weeks before you move. Canada Post will charge you a fee to temporarily redirect your mail.
